Neillsville Trip

Sleeping in till 1:30 today helped defray the stress of yesterdays "festivities". We left for WI at 8:15ish, and I got up around 7:30. Avery was comatose in bed next to me until approximately 8:00. She opted to not get a bath and stay in her pajamas in lieu of a little more sleep. My mom rode in the back in between the two booster seats. They didn't sleep a wink on the way there. We made it by about 10:30 and no one was killed.

The family members in attendance included my cousin Jamie and her husband Nick, their baby Braxton, my cousin Matt, my Aunt Lisa, Uncle Doug, Aunt Donna, Grandma, Grandpa and Great Uncle... spacing on the name right now. So it was pretty full in my grandparents house. Tierney and Avery were munching on white chocolate pretzels, chocolate stars, chocolate covered raisins, and chex mix like there was no tomorrow. They managed to eat a small portion of lunch, but thats not what they were really interested in.

I watched the Little Mermaid, 101 Dalmations, and Pinocchio mostly by myself, as the girls were downstairs doing laps around the pool table, and slamming balls all over the table, miraculously not getting their fingers smashed in the process. My grandma found some little dolls for them to play with and my Aunt Lisa and Jamie had gotten them Tinkerbell coloring books and crayons, but they were more interested in the pink tissue paper for beds for themselves and their dolls.

I held and fed Braxton quite a bit and he's a very content little boy. He only cried once while we were there, and thats understandable because my aunt Donna was holding him. ;) I forgot my camera, so any pictures taken are on my moms. Those are few because the thing is practically falling apart and it makes for annoying picture taking.

The ride home was quiet, because the girls passed out about 10 minutes into the drive. We woke them up for McDonalds, but suprisingly Avery wasn't up for eating at all. When we got home, I plunked her in the bath, then we watched a little tv when she got her second wind and went to bed by 10.

I played around on the internet for a bit then realized I hadn't seen my cat since we got home. I shook his food canister and poured him a bowl and when he still didn't show up I found that very odd. I went to go upstairs to look for him but didn't quite make it. I fell back down and landed on my foot. I thought I might have sprained my ankle at first but its not really my ankle as much as the top of my foot. I'm not sure what I did exactly, but it still hurts today. Hopefully that will pass, I have enough medical issues with my mouth! Anyway I called for my mom when that happened and we practically tore the house apart looking for Majik. We called the neighbors that had watched the dogs, and found that Roger had played with him in the afternoon and Chris hadn't taken him to the vet or anything later in the day. He hates being outside so I just couldn't imagine him taking off. Finally when we were ready to give up for the night we heard a plain meow, as opposed to the other small sounds we had heard before. Turns out he was stuck inside, underneath the leather couch in the family room. My mom had to lift the couch while I pulled him out. After all that work I was mad at him, but really I was just happy he was okay.

And THAT was my Saturday. Lord help me if Christmas turns out similarly.

Thanksgiving

Well its "Black Friday" and I actually did go out into the fray. Kmart and the Maplewood Mall. I didn't really accomplish all that much because I've been done with my own Christmas shopping for awhile. I did pick up a few things for Tierney for my mom though. Tierney is here and went and got her pictures taken at Sears with my mom, then Avery is going on Dec. 12th. Avery is with Robin, they went to the Como Zoo today with Steve and his grandson Soren.

Yesterday we went to Robin's for our Thanksgiving dinner. Bob and Deanna, and Dan and Nicole were there and of course Tim, Avery and I, along with Robin and Steve. Avery and I came home for a short nap afterwards then she went to Tim's for a few hours before bed.

Tomorrow we are going to Neillsville to see my cousin Jamie and her new baby Braxton, along with the rest of the family. I didn't realize Tierney was coming as well so we have a full car. At least its not too long of a drive, however I wish I had brought my ear buds home from work.

It feels like Sunday and its only Friday. I like getting paid for not coming into work. I wish I could do it more often!

Pumpkins

Yesterday Tim and Avery bought pumpkins for us to carve tonight. I had gotten a Disney Princess carving book awhile ago and we but that and the crappy tools it came with to use along with some from a previous Halloween. Avery helped scoop out some of the goop but that was really all we could have her do. She played at the table while Tim carved one then she took a bath while I did Snow White. When we finished Tim did a castle and Avery and I watched Curious George before heading to bed.

My parents are in Branson for the week so Tim took off Monday and Tuesday to watch Avery, I am leaving early Wednesday, she's going to Patty's Thursday and Friday she's with Robin. So she has a busy and unusual week. Saturday is Tierney's 4th birthday party in Shoreview and they rented a jumpy castle or something I think so that should be fun.

It's fall!

Yesterday Avery and I played in the leaves for a good hour and then some. She LOVED it. She was very sad when we finally bagged them. I assured her more would be falling.

Friday we watched Sleeping Beauty that I just bought for her and she liked it a lot. Now she's even more princess crazed. She loves Aurora and all the others. I've done some early christmas shopping and I just realized most of it was princess stuff. I'm padding Disney's pockets just a lil more I guess!

Earlier Friday there was a book sale at my work so Avery and my mom came to my work for that and then we got lunch at Ruby Tuesdays. I went back to work and proceeded to take a half hour nap in my car which set the rest of my work for the day a little behind schedule. =)

Wednesday we went to the library and then met Cece and Andrea at Buffalo Wild Wings where it was kids night and they ate for a dollar. They also got their faces painted (see kitty face paint in October 2008 pictures). Avery was a cat, Cece was a dalmation. Both very cute, and they got flower balloons. The woman doing the balloon animals and face painting was a saint. She grabbed your kids for about 10 minutes and entertained them while you ate! Very nice indeed.

Cece turns 3

Tomorrow is my friend Andrea's daughter's 3rd birthday. Today we went to the MN Zoo with her and her family. We left the house at 10:30 and left the zoo at 4:00. What a day. We saw the sharks and the fish in that tank get fed at 11:30, then we ate lunch. We walked through the Tropics Trail and wasted a lot of time waiting for other people to start walking. Somehow it was 2:00 before we started walking around the outside of the zoo. We saw tigers, camels, buffalo, prairie dogs, monkeys, wolves, grizzly bears, wild boars, swans, and possibly a few other things. The playground by the farm was pretty much the end. The kids weren't all too interested in the animals anyway and the playground was a welcome refuge for them.

As I drove home Avery dozed off so I kept driving to the library to drop off some books and stopped to get gas to give her some extra time to sleep. Then I ran inside and let the dogs out then grabbed my book and read in the car while she got a few extra z's. My parents had gotten home from SD and she was even reluctant to wake up and see them but eventually did with the bribing of new window clings to put up.

She ate dinner, painted up a storm, colored a bit and we're watching a show before she goes to bed. I'm ready too. Oof.

Teeth!

My weekend has consisted of life revolving around my mouth. Friday at 2:45 I headed over to the oral surgeon to be there for my 3:15 appointment. I filled out my paperwork and proceeded to sit in the waiting room until 4:35 with my mom. I had a smashing headache as I hadn't eaten since 9:15 in the morning. Nor any water because those are the rules. Lame. So I waited and waited, with my head smashing and then I finally get called back. They knock me out, take all my wisdom teeth (4 little lovelys) and ship me on my way home fairly foggy and not really remembering any of the trip.

I attempted to eat soup but I didn't want it, even though I hadn't eaten all day. So I couldn't take my pain meds on an empty stomach. I slept most of the day away and remained fairly out of it. I hate the way novacaine makes my mouth and tongue feel all puffy and tingly. Its the worst. That finally went away around midnight. Around 2 I took some tylenol they prescribed and thats all I've taken throughout the day and I've done okay on that.

Eating still is pretty blah, even with soft stuff it hurts going past the areas where my teeth were. So today's food has consisted of oatmeal, pudding, jello, cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, and ice cream.

Avery is at Tim's today but she stopped by to play with Tierney for a hour or two since she's here. Tomorrow is Ashley's (Tim's cousin) birthday party so we're going to that but thats pretty much all the excitement for the weekend. Only problem is I won't be able to eat any of the food! Oral surgery= unintentional diet. Joy.

State Fair 08

This year I've managed to make it to the State Fair twice. Saturday I went with my grandparents, parents, and cousin Tucker who is 10. We went on one ride in the Midway, he practically lost it, and that was the end of rides. He played every little carnival game he could get his paws on and my mom and I finally went off to get some food. That was pretty much it. So I wanted to go again and bring Avery too so yesterday we went with my parents and her cousin Tierney. This time was spent in the Kidway with various eating excursions. So basically the same deal but it was more fun with Avery cuz she just had such a blast.

Everyone always asks what you eat at the fair so here it is for trip #1

Wow so yeah I'm not eating for a week. Just kidding, I went to Perkins today. Oh well. Packing on a little winter fat never hurt anyone right?
